Open up the meter look for a small rubbe= r strip between the circuit board and the glass LCD display. Gently remov= e the strip. You may have to remove some screws or release a plastic spri= ng clip to separate the LCD and circuit board. Clean the circuit board an= d LCD contact area with a Q-tip and alcohol, then reassemble. The little = rubber strip is a multiconductor connector and is held in contact by pres= sure. After many years the contact points need to be cleaned. Most of the= hand held and some of the bench models have this type of LCD connection = strip.
