It is a thick plastic drinking glass, with a small circular speaker mounted inside. It peaks at 560 Hz, which is just what I like. It supplements the selective elements of the K2, and makes a noticeable reduction in high pitched hiss. When tuning in my widest bandwidth setting, I can get very close to my prefered pitch just by peaking the signal in the speaker. Then I narrow my cw filters and fine tune if necessary. 73, Bob N6WG -----Original Message----- From: elecraft-admin at mailman.qth.net [mailto:elecraft-admin at mailman.qth.net]On Behalf Of Tom Sent: Sunday, July 07, 2002 2:46 PM To: Elecraft at mailman.qth.net Subject: [Elecraft] External Speaker Hi gang, The Hints and Kinks section of the July issue of QST had an article on building an external speaker. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on building a speaker for the K2. I'm not as interested in the box it will go in as much as the circuit design itself, which you may have used. Thanks in advance for any ideas you may share. Tom McCulloch WB2QDG K2 S/N 1103 ++++++++++++++++++
