This is the town of Churchill Falls.  Probably the first thing you notice is that all the houses are facing in the same direction, to the North.  That's because the main living area in the houses are in the back, to take advantage of the short time the sun is in the Southern sky during the winter.  You may also notice that the houses are only on one side of the street.  That's because all the snow is plowed onto the other side.  In the centre of the picture is the "Donald Gordon" complex , locally known as the "Town Centre".  Inside are: a hotel, grocery store, restaurant, gift store, library, post office, bank, hair dresser, town offices, theatre, gymnasium, swimming pool, curling rink, and a Kindergarden to Grade 12 school.  The 735KV transmission lines connecting to the North American grid system are on the hills in the back, in the white strip.
