radio
restoration (Claude)
It is the restoration of
antique
radios that brougth me to Ham Radio. I proudly display the following
sets
(they are not for sale) :

RCA Radiola 44, 1929 : TRF radio, use
224
tetrodes and a 245 triode as output. The chassis is a casting of 1/4"
thick
aluminium, the model 104 magnetic speaker is external.

EVEREADY Everyman 1917 : A personnal
xtal
radio with headphones. An early walkman.

PHILCO 20, 1929 : TRF radio, It is a
small
console, push-pull 271 triodes as output, the 8" electrodynamique
speaker
is in the base, the voice coil is insulated with asbestos.

VICTOR 271, 1931 : superheterodyne
with one
shortwave bands, it is a large console, made in Lachine Qc.

ROGERS, 1933 : superheterodyne with
multiple
bands, the console is imposing. It uses ROGERS tubes only, in addition
to shielding they are covered with aluminium paint.

TELEFUNKEN Concertino 5430W, 1962 :
multibands
superheterodyne with FM and 2 SW bands, it has 4 speakers in a table
top
cabinet, its finish is bright as a piano's finish, the stereo output
stage
operates with only 2 pentodes 6GW8/ECL86, push-pull for one chanel and
in parallel for the other, this unusulal circuit is called simplex.
