Personal
Info
Name is Jim and I live
in Halifax Nova Scotia, Canada. I have been an amateur radio operator
since March 1990. Some of the things I enjoy are; ham radio, packet,
hunting, fishing, cottage life, country walks and bowling. My wife,
Joanne and I go to the cottage as often as we can. I usually set up a
portable station there and she does some gardening and reading while
I do some talking.
Personal Information: Attended Sarnia Collegiate
Institute and Technical School in Sarnia Ontario. Left there in 1964
and joined the navy. My first year after basic training was spent on
the west coast in Victoria, BC In 1966 I was transferred to Halifax.
In 1983 I went to night school and completed grade 12. The rest of my
service time and retirement has been spent here in Halifax. Beautiful
place, EH?
My trade/job in the service was as a
Signalman (visual and voice comms) up until the time I retired Dec
1988. I never thought about getting my ham license during that time.
Guess I missed out on meeting a lot of people that I may have talked
with
Where I like to be on the
