Type 47 Pentode (circa 1935)

This is a single tube transmitter with a "Type 47" Power Pentode. The schematic can be found in the 1936 Jones Handbook on page 115.

The filament voltage is 2.5 and the plate voltage is 350. The rig runs 2 watts input and the xtal frequency is 3576 Kcs.

After I got the xmtr working, I geared up qsk using a couple of old relays. This is a very nice working and fun rig!

Here's the xmtr running full smoke. The 6.3 volt bulb in series with the antenna is used for tuning, and look at the OA2 regulator glowing. Ain't she a beauty!.

Here's the setup on the workbench. My rcvr in an old Heathkit HR 1680.

And finally a shot of the OA2 regulator tube. It serves no purpose in this project other than a really pretty pilot light! But it sure looks good!
