Qrp to the Field 2005

In 2005 QRPTTF had a Railway theme. Pat, VE3EUR and Michael, VE3WMB operated from Britannia park in Ottawa next to the recreation path that was once the CP Rail line to Carleton Place. Adjacent to the path was also the site of the termination of the Ottawa Electric railway line which went from downtown Ottawa to Britannia park. In keeping with the theme, VE3WMB used a 1952 Vibroplex Original Deluxe bug that was once used on the Railway Telegraph lines in Western Canada.

VE3EUR works 20m CW with his all OHR station.

VE3EUR's all OHR station (20M OHR 100A, SCAF filter and digital display) plus Shurr Straight Key.

VE3WMB works 40m CW.

VE3WMB Elecraft K1, Palm PDA and Keyboard with GOLOG for logging and 1952 Vibroplex Original Deluxe Bug that was originally owned by Railway Telegrapher John Sanie Ewasiuk.

To sum up our experience .. we came, we made some contacts, we got really cold but we still had a lot of fun.
