On the last weekend in June, 2008, the TriCity Amateur Radio Club once again participated in Field Day, which is the biggest amateur radio event in the United States. We braved wind and chill on the first day, Saturday, but found the weather much improved on Sunday.

Our location was the top of Stage Hill at the Nature Center. The altitude makes for great radio wave propagation, while at the same time providing great natural beauty. It's always a pleasure to see such a view.

Saturday night, we had a gourmet hamburger and hotdog feed for hungry hams and their significant others, cooked by Chef Larry, KL7MH. Four hams spent a chilly night on the summit -- we had a record low of 46 degrees that night -- but it was probably even colder at the altitude of Stage Hill. Sort of our own DXpedition.
