OMNI VI Key Ckicks

Many Omni 6/6+ transceivers are plagued with audible "key clicks" in the received audio sidetone. The received key clicks are attributed to a sidetone "wrap-around" circuit. A CMOS quad-bilateral switch routes the sidetone generator into the post-volume control audio. What one hears is the effect of a slight DC offset being pumped into the audio by the CMOS switch. Disconnecting plug 52 on the IF/AF circuit board still allows for normal sidetone operation and its volume relative to the incoming signal can still be adjusted via the front panel "ST" button. Simply disconnect plug 52 and use a single tie-wrap to place it safely away from harm. No other change is necessary and the rig can be easily restored to its stock configuration by reconnecting the plug.
