ABOUT TAROC

Hi all!  Thank you for taking the time to drop in and see what TAROC is all about.  TAROC was started Oct. 29, 1998.  It was formed when myself (VE7KED) was online chatting with Dennis (VE1DCD) and the idea of how many young canadian hams came to us.  Dennis said well there isn't a teen club in canada so lets do it.  I had the same idea and I actually started a homepage for TAROC 2 days earlier.  Well I suggested the name TAROC and he liked it!  So we went on that night getting everything prepared for the next afternoon.  We launched the TAROC page on Oct. 30th and started searching for hams nation wide.
We are still in the progress but watch TAROC grow!  Don't worry, we may not have very members now but we haven't started to dig much yet!

RAC

What happened to the RAC web site?  Did they discontinue it due to lack of funds?  Rumer says they haven't as many members since raising the membership fee $10 so they will be lowering the fee back to the old one.  If you have any information on RAC's position please email it to taroc@qsl.net.

Industry Canada

Industry Canada proposed to make the amateur service licence free due to the fact it was costing too much to file and mail all the licences.  Well that might mean them starting to licence commercial frequencies in the bands we have secondary usage to.  My personal opinion to the matter is AGAINST streamlining the amateur service!
