This lighthouse was manufactured in 1829 from British. The altitude of tower is 11 metres and the height of focal plane is 39 metres.

STROFADIA. Thirty five small rocks isles southernly of Zakynthos (Zante) Island. The bigger one is Stamfani where located the monastery-castle Virgin Mary of Pantachara, the temple of Saint Onufrios in Arpyja with extremely ecological interest. By Appolonios from Rodos called as "Plotes", by Virgilios and Stravon called as "Strofades". They are included in maps of modern geographers and sightseers.

The lighthouse included in the Greek lighthouses network in 1863 with the annexation of Ionian Islands. The access to the lighthouse becomes with boat from Katakolo or from Zakynthos Island.

Ο φάρος αυτός κατασκευάστηκε το 1829 από τους ’γγλους. Το ύψος του πύργου του ειναι 11 μέτρα και τό εστιακό του ύψος είναι 39 μέτρα.

ΣΤΡΟΦΑΔΙΑ . Τριάντα πέντε τον αριθμό, νοτίως της Ζακύνθου, με μεγαλύτερο το Σταμφάνι. Εδώ το καστρομονάστηρο της Παναγίας της Παντοχαράς, ο ναός του Αγίου Ονουφρίου στην Αρπυια, εξαίρετου οικολογικού ενδιαφέροντος. “Πλωταί” τα ονομάζει ο Απολλώνιος ο Ρόδιος, “Στροφάδες”, ο Βιργίλιος και ο Στράβωνας, ενώ περιλαμβάνονται σε χάρτες των σύγχρονων γεωγράφων και περιηγητών.

Ο φάρος εντάχθηκε στο Ελληνικό φαρικό δίκτυο το 1863 με την προσάρτηση των Επτανήσων. Η πρόσβαση σ' αυτόν γίνεται με βάρκα από το Κατάκωλο ή την Ζάκυνθο.
