The Sussex County ARES website has been up and running for a few months now. I would appreciate any feedback as to contents of the site. I am not a professional webmaster. I welcome any suggestions or material to improve the site.

ARES Net / NNJ Section

Section wide training and information net (New time 7:30pm)

The ARRL Northern New Jersey Section monthly ARES net will be held the second Monday of the month at 7:30pm on the Morris County OEM repeater, 146.895/146.295 PL 151.4. All amateur operators, whether they are affiliated with ARES or not, are invited to check-in. Any hams with questions regarding emergency communications will be addressed.s

March of Dimes

Thanks!

Thank you all who volunteered your time for the March of Dimes Walkathon on April 30. Communications operators were present at the command post, rest stops. Public Service Communications manuals and Sussex County ARES T-Shirts were distributed.s

Multiple Sclerosis Bike Tours

MS-150

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society will be holding it's Spring Bridge the Gap MS-150 bike tour on June 10 and June 11. Amateur operators will be needed at rest stops, in personal vehicles to patrol the route and in MS vehicles and repair trucks. A linked 440 repeater system and 2 meter backup will be used for communications. Mobile radios will be necessary for roaming vehicles. Handhelds will have coverage in some areas. Please contact me as soon as possible if you are able to attend. Also advise if you can provide or if you will require equipment.

MS-100

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society will be holding it's Fall MS-100 bike tour on September 23-24, 2000. This race will start in Ramsey, NJ come through Bergen, Passaic and Sussex County. Overnight stay at Legends resort in Vernon. Continuing onto Port Jervis, NY and a scenic train ride back to Ramsey. Look for further info on this one! s

Vernon Township Municipal Building

Skywarn Spotter Training. Open to anyone with an interest in communications, weather or public safety. No pre-requisite training is necessary. All ARES members are urged to attend. Topics will include how to correctly identify and report hazardous weather conditions. s

Full Scale Exercise

June 17, 2000 - 05:30 am - 08:30 am

Biological weapon drill. Wallkill Valley Regional High School, Hamburg, NJ. Police, Fire, EMS, FBI, and hospitals will be participating. Emergency Management has requested RACES/ARES to provide communications.
