Y2K Thanks! Thank you all who volunteered your time and staffed the county emergency operations center on New Years Eve and New Years Day. Although there were no major failures reported, it was a very well coordinated large scale national preparedness exercise.s Emergency Management Training I have posted the new NJ State Police Emergency Management training schedule on my personal website. http://www.qsl.net/n2qvc/oemtrain.htm Course dates and locations as well as course descriptions are available. A downloadable training application is also available. Anyone interested in furthering their Emergency Management education is should review the schedule. With the help of webmaster Brian Flaherty (Jersey Coastal 90-02) this page is also available as a link from the New Jersey Emergency Management Association and Jersey Coastal Emergency Services websites. Anyone with updates or new classes please send me a message and I will add them. Stay tuned for an upcoming class in Incident Command System (ICS-100). This class will help with understanding the organizational functions in managing an emergency incident. Although communications is only one part of the structure, communications personnel interact with ALL personnel and should be familiar with the basic organizational structure. s Internet The Internet is a valuable resource for all types of information including ham radio.
