Sterlingfest

An Annual Event

Every year the Sterling Park Amateur Radio Club participates  in the Annual SterlingFest held in Sterling , Virginia.

We set up an amateur radio station and operate on-the-air for the duration of the Fest. It is an excellent way to meet new people at the festival, make some contacts on the air, and interest passers-by in amateur radio.

Sterling Fest 2009

The 2009 Sterlng Fest will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2009, 11am - 4pm.

The Sterling Park Amateur Radio Club will participate in the Annual SterlingFest held in Sterling , Virginia, to be held this year on Saturday, 8  October, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m, Rain or Shine.

Sterling Fest 2004

A few pictures of the event.

10 Oct 04: The special event station at the 2004 Sterlingfest was a great success. The weather was temperate and the food was good, and the propagation was excellent. We had numerous visitors to the station and a special hit, especially among the younger visitors, was the practice code ocsillator set which enabled all to try out CW. We made 50 QSO's on SSB and the 1-watt QRP CW rigs.  Special thanks go to the members of the club who supported the set-up and operation of the station: Russ, W3RST; Ray, KD4RSL;  Gordon, NQ4K; Forrest, N4UTY; Bill, WF1L, Bill, KC4ATU; and Dick, W2YE.  Several  SPARCies also stopped by to check out the station operation.  Jim, AF4MO,  Kevin, W4KLS, Bill, KI4DHY,  Duane, K4UW, Jim, KF4PQL,  Linda, K4LDT, and Joe, WB2SAI, contributed to the camaraderie at the station. At one point, I suspect we had more hams at Sterlingfest then we normally get at our regular meetings. Russ, W3RST, took many photographs and we hope to post these here in the near future.
