PRESENTATION: "QRP" by Forrest Snyder, Jr., N4UTY.
PRESIDENTS THOUGHTS:
Sterlingfest
did not happen. Even though the flyer said "rain or shine," it was
postponed due to rain. Rumor says it will be rescheduled for April. The
October meeting is coming up and we have a full agenda. First,
Forrest, N4UTY, will give a presentation on QRP. I have heard his
"antenna" presentation twice and enjoyed it both times. I am eagerly
awaiting to hear him discuss QRP operations. However, out of respect to
our fellow club member, I encourage the high power folks to keep
their HI HI's to a minimum. Dick,
W2YE, will discuss the upcoming contests and SPARC participation. We
recently added a page to the web site with a summary of past SPARC club
participation in the major contests. I encourage all to visit the page
and think about how we can increase our showing in these events. Finally,
the Virginia QSO Party is only 6 months away. It is time to review the
rules. I will bring the comments that we gathered from the logs last
year and we can have an initial discussion of any changes. See you at the meeting, |
