NEXT MEETING: Tuesday, 18 January 2005, 8:00 PM at the Sterling Community Center Annex.
PRESENTATION: Forrest, N4UTY, will give his famous
"chalk talk" on antennas and station grounds. PRESIDENTS
THOUGHTS:
The
holidays have come and gone and all is still well. I also recently worked the
ARRL RTTY contest and it was a lot of fun. I understand from Dick, W2YE, that
he also worked the contest and did very well. We can ask him about his
experience at the next meeting. The
next meeting is on Tuesday, 18 January
2005, not Monday. Monday is a holiday and the Community Center is closed. Forrest,
N4UTY, volunteered to give a presentation on antennas. I heard his talk a few
years ago and it tied together all I have been reading about antennas. This
promises to be very educational as well as enjoyable. The
Virginia QSO Party preparations are coming along fine. We have sponsors
identified for almost all the plaques; the list is posted on our web site.
Dick, W2YE, has contacted the logging program developers and we are awaiting
confirmation that their programs have been updated. At
this meeting, Dick, W2YE, will lead a discussion about K4NVA station
operations for the Party. We have this meeting and the next to discuss
stations configuration and operators. I
also found an old Virginia QSO Party web page, from 1997, and posted it to
our web site. Things have not changed very much. Looking
forward to seeing you at the meeting. |
