PRESIDENTS THOUGHTS:

Hi,

February is almost over. Recently I participated in a couple of RTTY contests on 80M without much luck. My station is just not good enough to reach out to DX on that band. Time to focus on a better "invisible," wire antenna.

I also set up a radio station at our church for a father-son day. While walking on the church roof trying to tie one end of a wire dipole to the church steeple, I realized I am a little afraid of heights. A lot of boys stopped by the station. However, I found that the most interested where the fathers who had some past connection with ham radio.

The next meeting is on Monday, 28 February 2005. We have a full agenda.

First, Dick, W2YE, will show a DVD presentation from the T33C expedition.

Second, the Virginia QSO Party preparations are coming along well.  We have mailed announcement notices to all clubs in Virginia.  We just asked Dennis  send an email to  individual ham radio operators.

Dick, W2YE, will lead a discussion about K4NVA station operations for the Party.

This is our final opportunity to get our K4NVA station organized before the Party. If you are interested in operating one of the radios, please email Dick.

Finally, this is the annual  membership/dues collection meeting.  Ray, KD4RSL, is always willing to collect dues.

Looking forward to seeing you at the meeting.

73,
Gordon
