Herndon Train Depot
Special Event Station

An Event

In 2009, the Sterling Park Amateur Radio Club decided to celebrate the arrival of train service in Herndon, VA. Bill, WF1L, had the original idea and was supported by Gary, K4SRX, both ham radio and train enthusiasts.

Some information about Herndon and the train depot was provided by the Herndon Historical Society.

The idea originated from the RailRoad Depot on the Air (RROTA) initiative. More information is available from their email list (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/rrdota/)
