Antenna Rope Hanging (24 June 2011) |
||
Antenna hanging is a fine art. A slingshot, fishing reel, and a sinker is shot over the top of a light pole and the fishing line is used to pull up a rope. The rope ultimately is used to haul a wire antenna up high into the sky. Members of the club exhibit their skill at this demanding challenge. | Eric, AJ4LN. |

||
Russ, W3RST, arrived early to check the generator. |
A problem. The gas tank has a slow leak where the leg meets the tank. |
The temporary fix was a sand bag pressed against the leak to dampen vibration and hold the leg against the tank. This was good enough to keep power until the end of Field Day. |
