First of all we need to get the word out about our Club Meetings and our on the air net each Sunday evening at 8:00 p.m. on the Club repeater. Sorry to report but the Sunday Net, January 19th there were only three check ins, Margo, Debbie and Eldon. Where were you???
Some up coming events that you might be interested in are:
The CSEPP exercise scheduled for February 5th at the Lonoke County OEM Office. This exercise will involve several counties, most within a 60 mile radius of Pine Bluff. Right now Eldon-K7ZQR and Al-WA8UBL or Marvin-KC5TMU plus hopefully Alex-KB5YUA will man the Amateur Radio Setup at the Lonoke County OEM.
There are several HamFest scheduled starting in February:
Dixiefest (Memphis) Feb 8-9; Russellville March 1; Harrison March 8; Ft. Smith April 5; ARES Club April 25-26 and CAREN Club Sep 20. More information regarding Hamfest can be found at: http://www.all-arkansas-hams.org/
It is not too early to start planning for Field Day 2003. June 28-29, 2003.
Time for dues. If you don't have a current dues membership card for 2003 then you need to get in touch with Steve-N5QIH. Check out the web page for a membership application form plus links and club pictures of former events. There are several pictures of the Picnic held at Marvin's QTH (KC5TMU) in October 2002. Thanks again to Marvin and his lovely wife for having the Picnic at their home. It was a real nice and enjoyable event. The Hot Dog outing at Tommy and Margo's QTH was also very enjoyable.
Don't forget our monthly meetings at Shoney's in Jacksonville, Gregory Street Exit, at 8:00 a.m. the third Sunday of each month unless otherwise notified during our on the air nets on the Club Repeater, 147.150+, each Sunday evening at 8:00 p.m. local time. Remember everyone, members and nonmembers are cordially invited to participate both in our face to face meeting and the on the air nets. Invite a friend to join us.
