12/06/00 Longmont Amateur Radio Club - Board Meeting
Tha LARC board meeting for December, 2000 was held at the Fair-Grounds office building at 18:30 hours 12/06/00. Board members present were: W0LVQ, WA2EKU, N0XDA, K8CRM and W0IPL. Also present were KC0CWI and K0RFM.
Jim, N0XDA handled signing the documentation for the meeting room for the year 2001 this last week. He presented copies of the documents.
Motion was made by Bob, WA2EKU to maintain the LARC allocation for the building where we have been holding the annual swapfest. He noted that if we give up the allocation it could take a minimum of several years to get another. Passed with all in favor.
There was a discussion of how we could put together some form of swap fest without the lengthy process we have been using. Several ideas were presented and the one firm decision was that we WILL have an event. Please bring ideas on how we can best operate this event. It looks like it could be more of an electronics oriented garage sale with no pre-sale of tables and a requested $1.00 donation at the door. Possibly have McDonald's handle coffee and such like they did for BARC this year. Once again, please bring your ideas on how to best handle the event.
The December membership meeting will be held at 19:00 on 12/20/00 at the Fair-Grounds office with a social hour starting at 18:00. There will be a short presentation/demonstration on: PSK31 and MFSK16 (Multiple tone Frequency Shift Keying - 16 tone). There will also be a very brief update on the ARRLs Emergency Communications course.
Motion was made and passed to continue financial support for the ARRLs Frequency Defense Fund ($50.00/year) as we have been doing.
An update will be posted this week (note will be sent to the reflector) of the list of members that have not yet had opportunity to pay their dues for this next year.
Dave K0IPH is in a Loveland Hospice with Lung Cancer.
This will be handled after the pending changes that Bob and Chris currently have "on their plate" for the repeater.
