Accepted ===== Treasurer's Report by Steve, WB6YQP There was a deposit to our account in February that didn't belong to us. It was reversed but the statement was not corrected. Steve is waiting for the corrected statement to be sent, will report on it in April. Beginning balance was $1012.56 with $140.00 in deposits from dues. With $15.31 cash on hand, this brings our total funds to $1167.87. We have an additional $60.00 awaiting deposit to our account. Bills due are $169.95 for the Astron RS-35M power supply and $15.00 for the ORRC 2000 dues. Motion to accept by Sean, N7ZWU. 2nd by Leonard, KB7TSX. Accepted ===== Tech Report: Everything is doing ok. Sexton had to be reset. KOPE is to be moved at a later date. Discussion on Soda Mtn. and the designation of Wilderness Area vs. National Monument. Barbara Boxer wants to include the Horseshoe Ranch area into the land to be designated. If it becomes a wilderness area, road removal, etc. will go into effect. National Monument allowed access is dependent on administration politics. The area will include Pilot Rock which is already designated a National Monument. The area will cover from I-5 to Soda Mtn. and Northern California to as far as Highway 66. Albert's 9600 link is down and he is passing BBS traffic on 2 meters. SCARA is looking into moving the SCARA node to either Deusal (6200 ft.) or Bolliver as the projected new sites. The building the SCARA node is in at this time is very decrepit and the roof leaks. They have the equipment inside the building tarped with black plastic to protect it. The Keyboard Network is ok. The EUG node may be going back on the air. Can we get them to put back a better antenna? Our 430 MHz antenna is still in position. DC node. Scott Mtn. would be able to go direct to Salem. Can we contact Tom Hires to see what the status is? Their nodestack is presently on Lane Mtn. ===== Old Business: The best place to get the Astron Power Supply is through HRO. Albert, WB7AWL recommends at a bare minimum getting good surge protection on Hamaker Mtn. It would even be better in his estimation to get a UPS up there as we have had power problems. We need to look into the size and price necessary. It is estimated to need a maximum 30A draw. We need Dick, K7DDI to check the power consumption. Sean, N7ZWU will look into price and availability. Discussion on letter. Frank, WB6LMA recommends that 20kc split be changed to read 20kc channel separation. Other revisions are made. The letter is to be sent Certified. ===== New Business: Next club meeting will fall during Pear Blossom. It is decided to hold the meeting as very few members will be participating. Gene, KO6DW will be taking license upgrade tests so Dick, K7DDI will preside over the meeting. Discussion on new members. We need to take demonstrations to the packet clubs to stimulate interest. The SOAPRA roster will be sent out. ===== Meeting adjourned: 11:47 AM Sean, N7ZWU SOAPRA Secretary. ===== /ex
