Soapbox Comments ________________ This contest was operated from the QTH of SL3ZV/SK3JR. Highlights: This was the first contest with the new towers. (see http://www.itz.se/jonit/sl3zv) It was a real blast! Lowlights: 1) The gamma of the 40m beam blew up (literally!!) twice during the night. BDZ, PXO, UKE and VYD spent a total of 3 hours in the 40m tower starting 7 pm (first breakdown) and ending 3 am (second breakdown). 2) Due to a relay failure in the coaxial switch on the first hour of the contest, the multiplier station rig (TS850) was subjected to "full legal power" on the front end... When the smoke had disappeared, we found ourselves stuck with an old TS440 on the second station. 3) The poor propagation made the night terribly boring! We heard the more southerly located operators working stations that we couldn't even hear. Well, maybe next year... I have observed all competition rules as well as all regulations established for amateur radio in my country. My report is correct and true to the best of my knowledge. I agree to be bound by the decisions of the Awards Committee. Date ______________ Signed _____________________________ Call ___________
