How it all Start
It was in the summer 1996. A young hungry SWL (now
SM7XEN Henrik) phoned me with a suggestion, Shouldn´t we try to be active in July
contest. I said yes why not.
Henrik have an uncle who have a farm on the southside of the Romeleås (140masl).
The uncle said OK. And in July contest-96 we started with IC-202s+pa 80w and
10el yagi.
We used my callsign SM7LXV/7
Then in the winter 1998 we got a PA with 2*8930 which was out of order. Nisse
SM7ADC
was doing a nice job with the pa . So in March contest-99 we were waiting for the
"big bang".
But the PA was working fine business.
In this and the coming contests we used the FT-225RD.
So one day when Henrik felt like a rich man he bought an IC-746 (FB rig) which we
still use+ pa (2*8930)+ MGF-1302+ 2*9el.
For the March contest 2000 we changed our callsign to SK7JM.
In the contests it´s me Chris SM7LXV and Henrik SM7XEN which are the operators. We
change one hour with the radio and one hour with the computer. No sleep at all in 24hours.
SM7ADC/Nisse, SM7LXU/Hans, the farmer and Magnus/ xen brother, is always helping
us to put up and down the antenna system for every contest, thanks guys.
