SARA Animation The SARA system provides a means of linking a number of independant repeaters together to provide VHF communication coverage far beyond the line-of-sight propagation area. The inactive system appears as a number of independent repeaters. By use of DTMF tones, a local VHF repeater can be linked to any of the other VHF repeaters on the system.
A station near Andrew keys up VE6RJK and links it to the SARA system.
VE6RJK on code, VE6SRV. 680*
Activation of the backbone provides signal to each of the drop sites,as well as activating the four UHF hub repeaters. VE6GAS also activates since it is normally left connected to the backbone.
VE6EID on code, VE6SRV. 612*
VE6EID is then linked to the system, providing VHF coverage to Brooks.
