| Sao Tomé is warm and
humid but not sunny. The vegetation is dense and abundant.
Trekking and rain forest walks are the main attraction of
the island. Thanks to excellent services of local travel
agent, Navetur-Equatour, I could experience both rain and forest.
My cameras did not like it, though. On one of our trips, we met a French butterfly-collector near the Sao Nicolau waterfall in the centre of the island. Photograph on the right. |

Here are my guides: Luis Mario, usually goes first with a machete in his hand. Hélcio, on the right, speaks fluent English and actually helped me to find a boy who tied my antenna wire to the top of a tree. |
