Enjoy the DX! The DX it's fun! enjoy it!DX'ing is, with many , much more than a hobby, it is an obsession. Some Hams buying their houses in good DX locations; they have jobs that permit them to stay home on occasion to catch a rare new country; their vacations are planned for times when they are sure that no new ones will be on, and even nights out to visit friends or family can be cancelled at the last minute if something new on spots at cluster. Most ham's wives suffer, but the wife of a DX chaser or Contester suffers the most. Working DX means different things on different amateur bands, it means working DXCC entities, zones for WAZ or islands for IOTA or maybe Antarctic Bases for WABA. On the short waves a contact with antipodes I should say a contact with the other side of the earth is a really DX contact. The great bulk of the serious DX hunting is done on the twenty meter band. Next comes eighteen meters , then fifteen meters, then twelve meters , then ten meters and also thirty meters, forty meters, eighty and, finally, one hundred sixty meters . Let's talk first about twenty meters. Here the DX means, in essence, contacting as many different countries or entities as possible. There are the easy DXCC countries and there are the DXCC hard ones. Some DXCC entities (countries) are so small or backward that they have no amateurs in residence. With perhaps 700.000 amateurs looking for a DX station or a single amateur in a country is kept extremely busy providing even one contact with everyone that wants him. We'll talk later on about what an operator in a rare country can do to keep things orderly and protect himself from being called by hundreds of stations all at once. Whether the situation is one of order or chaos is entirely in the hands of the operator in the rare country. Perhaps we should consider motivations just briefly here. To some operators just the contacting of stations in different countries is enough. Others are interested in having a chance to sit and chat with the rare country. But the great bulk of the DXers are after the QSL card confirming the contact which they can apply to DXCC Desk and display on their wall or send in for an other award. There are hundreds of awards available. As a mater of fact there is a lot of DX Awards programs DXCC, WAZ, WAS, WPX, IOTA and many others. If you stop and give the matter some thought, you can probably see one of the basic difficulties that these awards have brought out. This is the question of what is and what is not a country. What is a entity ? You're going to need four things if you are going to make a name for yourself in the DX world . You're going to need a good rig, a good antenna, a good locations, and enough time. But more important is listening and listening. When you heard you're learning!. We'll take those on one at time. It takes time to work 300 countries (entities)... a lot of time. You have to be pretty dedicated to get this many worked. But if you have a good signal and can put in two or three hours a day on week and perhaps six or eight a day on weekends you should be able to work at least 100 countries for you first DXCC award submission. By the end of a year you should be well over 200 countries. Your success from then on depends on how avid and dedicated you are. The rarer Entities don't come at frequency by accident. You have to subscribe DX bulletins or DX News at internet . You have to keep in touch with others DX'ers and find out when they will be on. On twenty meters you can get most of your best DX'ing in during the evening hours. When a good strong DX'pedition station opens up from a rare spot we appreciate this factor for we find that we are able to work him almost around the clock. Of course his high power makes a big difference on this too. Most of them are not really aware of the difference that high power makes in the number of hours that the band would be open for them. They haven't really realized why it is that they can hear my signal for 18 hours a day, but can only get through to me for two or three hours. This can be extremely frustrating for the DX operator. But more important is to be there!... NEW ONE? WHAT'S THAT?!A CERTEZA DE SE CONSEGUIR “NEW DXCC”!
SACRÍFICIO A QUANTO OBRIGAS!
(North Korea) BS7(Scarborouh Reef) 3Y (Peter I) outros como KP5 (Desecheo
ACTIVIDADE FASCINANTE!
ONE” AS
NOSSAS ANTENAS TÊM DE ESTAR IMPECÁVEIS! E SUPER AFINADAS! 73’s e bons DX’s O MELHOR DA NOSSA
ESTAÇÃO É A ANTENA!
Links for DX!
