Begginings.......
My first contact with ham radio was by using 2m walkie-talkie for communicating with other pilots when flying. As licence for transmitting with radio was needed I made an exam for amateur operator and received a call S56LOB (28th November 1994), upgraded to S57LOB (4th April 1995) and finally on 7th of May 1996 I made a licence for extra class - (IARU REGION 1 CEPT I) and received a call sign S51TA which I am using ever since. I am dedicated to ham radio ever since my first contact with 2m handy! I like HF contesting, CW in particular. SO2R is also one of my passions.
I operated most of the well known Slovene amateur radio stations as well as stations abroad. I try to establish contacts with HAMs WW wherever I currently am.
I prefer SO AB categories vs. MO (M/S, M/2, M/M) or/and SB entries.
As there was and still is too many activity going on I decided to show part of my activity by years - click on a year on right sided navigation bar and navigate through.
As stated before I have operated under a lot of callsigns and from many stations abroad; few most memorable ones are; Z30M, OT6A, YT6A (4O3A), CN8WW, G6PZ, VE3EJ, VA3YP, K1TTT, OE4A, K1VR, VO1HE, VO1AA, LZ1JK
I am also holding a Croatian callsign 9A1TA and special contest call when contesting from Corsica Island TK9A.
Other callsigns used: OE/S51TA, Z38/S51TA, TK/S51TA, VE3/S51TA, 4O/S51TA, ON/S51TA, G6/S51TA, 9A/S51TA, W1/S51TA, VO1/S51TA, LZ/S51TA.
Almost everywhere I go I take my radio with me or I find someone at whom I can operate a contest or at least make few QSO's if time of the travel permits that.
Current setup ...
My station is currently in the capital city of Slovenia, Ljubljana. QTH is not the best, but it offers me enough to make QSO's on a daily basis and to give out some points in contests. Usually I work contests from contest locations arround Slovenia.
My current setup;
ICOM IC-7800 + ICOM PW-1
K3 + ACOM 2000A
ICOM IC-7000 for my /MM activities + Pactor III modem
Microham MK2R+ SO2R controller
YT6A HP Band Pass Filters
WX0B, Microham and Topten switching and controlling of antennas.
YT6A BANDPASS FILTERS
Antennas are changing all the time, generally I have the following;
4el Steppir w 40/30m add on kit, Inv vee for 80m, Slooper for 40m, Inv L. for 160m, 4el/4el 2m/70cm, K9AY loops for RX.
Future ...
I am building a living & HAM radio QTH close to Ljubljana, which will be operationable within 2 years starting in 2008.
