EDITORIAL
As
the new President of the RSSL, I would like to invite all members to join in
and help make the RSSL a very active club and also together, to do the best
for the amateur radio community. I am happy to have an energetic team which
has both youthful enthusiasm, a desire for change, a professional approach as
well as the wisdom of experienced past Presidents of the RSSL. Our aim is to
make the day to day running efficient, to activate all established sections
like the QSL Buro, Library, RAExam Classes , VHF Net, keep repeaters optimised
and functioning, monthly meetings energised with technical talks,
and from there go to new goals. We also have plans to make the MOU with
the Tourist Board action oriented. The Web site which is our window to the
world is being redesigned and we have targeted 31st December as the
soft launch date. On the international scene, the priority is to get
reciprocal arrangements for Sri Lankans and also start the ball rolling for a
SEANET Convention in a couple of years. There are a few more areas that we are
working on. We have already initiated action in everyone of those areas with
members of the Council taking charge of various subjects. These are a few
words to tell the membership that we have a vision, but our actions should
enlighten you in the months ahead. Our aim is to do things right and get
everyone together without any bias. So please extend your hand of co-operation
to me and my team. Tnx and best 73. De Vitor 4S7VK.
RSSL ANNOUNCEMENTS

BUREAU - There
are cards for many members in the Buro. The QSL Manager Uthpala will bring to
the monthly meeting only cards of members who have requested him to do so.
Other members can contact Uthpala (Tel 578545) and make arrangements to get
their cards by post or authorise someone else to collect them. From next month
there will be a list of call signs of members who have cards in the bureau. Outgoing
cards can be handed over at meetings to the manager or to a council
member. Cards will be sent out at least once every 3 months. However, this
will be reviewed from time to time as the bureau gets more and more active.
