Tidbits: WJ4DX is recovering from an ACL foot issue. The higher HF Bands

have seen great conditions recently and several members have been upping

their country count. On a different note, 75m band conditions went so bad

suddenly in the middle of our 9/24/11 chapter net W4DGJ closed it down, a

first. K3OS, N2COP, WA4AKB, ND4MR, W4HF, N4TL, K4HF and others enjoyed the

Shelby Hamfest. It was good to see John, W4CC out and about after an

extended bout of illness. Travelling recently were N4TL to the

Transportation Museum in Spencer, W4MBD to the NC Zoo, K3OS to a Panthers

Game, K4HF and K4MJL to Tryon Palace in New Bern and KB8V to Scotland. ND4MR

helped out with the annual Boy Scouts JOTA radio event in October. K1AF and

N2COP are enjoying their FlexRadios. K3OS and KB8V are rejuvenating vintage

HF amplifiers. With the installation of a new 80M inverted V antenna W4TJE

has his radio station back to normal after a severe lightning hit several

months ago. KB4BR has returned after storm related  antenna issues were

fixed. KJ4WD completed a Power Company House Energy  audit and remedial

program. K4MK is preparing to put more VHF/UHF antennas on his new tower.

WB4DCM, KJ4WD and N4TL took part in the Spring QCWA QSO Party. K4HF

participated in the recent Annual Telephone Pioneers QSO Party. WA4BVY is

enjoying his new part time employment and pending move to another abode. We

were glad to have visitors Jim, WD8MZR and Kay Fore of Holly Springs and

Mike Honer, W1BFN of Asheboro at our September meeting. Also, Dick, WA2ROC

in Durham joined us on the chapter net a few weeks ago.

Use the Chapter 126 Reflector for announcements of interest. Don't forget

the availability of QCWA Awards. All the best to you and your families for

the Holidays!

I hope to see many of you in Lexington on December 3!
