Program: The program will be a presentation on "All about the Digital Mode PSK 31" by Tommie Wood, N4YZ of Salisbury.

New Member: We are happy to announce that Sandy Gerli, AC1Y of Durham, NC has joined our chapter. Sandy has already checked into our Saturday morning 75 meter net and has been a national member for several years. He was on the ARRL Hqs staff for several years.

Tidbits: The summer months have caused the attendance on the chapter net to be up and down. Most of us remember the net is there but we must constantly juggle our time. Family visits, home or away, attending hamfests, reunions, vacations, public service events, local club meetings, other outings or just not missing out on a meal. Its great when all can make it and we hit a high number for George. Sharon Rogers, KA4ZBJ continues to get well after her illness. WB4DCM and K4HF participated in the Raleigh Club Annual Field Day effort. We hope our Class 7A operation as W4DW will do well this year. A special effort was made to get most of the bonus points. The GOTA Station, headed up by Gary Pearce, KN4AQ and Dick Orander, KD4ISC was particularly successful in training new operators for the other stations on site.

For the National QCWA Spring QSO Party, Charlie, WB4DCM received a Certificate for his Second Place finish in the CW/Digital Mode. George, W4DGJ also participated in the CW Mode. K1AF continues to enjoy the several six meter band openings recently. ND4MR is rebuilding his shack after some required renovation. N2RF continues getting his vintage gear in operating order. W4UW likes to go to Cherokee now and then as does K4HF and K4MJL for the outdoor dramas. Estate gear sales have slowed but it has been a busy few months for K4HF. Now it comes to helping our new hams use some of this equipment. Thanks to W4WXZ for passing on the 1953 picture of Weldon Field, W4AJT's daughter Charlanne, Bill Tippett, W4ZV's wife. Several of the Raleigh hams enjoyed the Salisbury Firecracker Hamfest in July thanks to the efforts of Ralph, WB4AQK, W4HG, N4YZ and others. Don't forget to apply for the Nat'l QCWA Service Awards and advise K4HF for future recognition. Thanks for your response on dues. The updated chapter roster is coming. See you in Siler City Sept. 12th!
