In the earl 1700's Spanish Galleons and Pirate ships were plentiful off the coast
of Florida. in 1715 a major hurricane struck the southeaster Florida area sending most of
these ships to the brawney deep into "Davy Jones Locker" with their hulls full of bounty.
That bounty being Gold, Silver and precious gems worth millions. Thus the Southeast
Florida area has since been know as the "Treasure Coast".
The modern treasure hunters of today are still searching and uncovering these sunken
treasurs and finding their riches. Just as we, amateur radio enthusiast are searching,
we send our signals deep into the ionosphere and have them return to mother earth
pinpointing the richest treasue of all, the pleasure of a great QSO and a golden
friendship of other treasure hunters that are searching on 10 meters at 28.305 Mhz
at 10:00 A.M. Eastern time every day. I'm proud to say that I'm a member of the
TREASURE COAST SMUGGLERS NET

Membership in the Smugglers Net can be obtained by having three "check ins" while the net is running between 10:00 A.M. and 11:00 A.M. Eastern Standard time of course and sending a 9X12 SASE envelope to KT4PA (good in the callbook), that will bring a membership (with a little proding of the coordinator) certificate and entitle you to search for the treasure of a "golden" friendship with the Smugglers. The band is open so get with it and join in with the best of the treasure hunters in their search for their Gold.
