During the month of April the VHF conditions in the Pacific and Far East
turned out to be tremendous. The following are a sample of indirect info
  on the events.

50-MHz Japan into: Hawaii, Guam, Phillipines, Papua, Australia
(with reception of New Zealand TV signals in Japan as well).
Australia into Hawaii. For more definitive information, the upcoming
issues of QST should provide much more (i.e., dates/times).

I have heard some of the tape recordings of these events, including
a 3-watt 52-MHz ssb signal into Japan from Australia.
