However, the Swiss predicted numbers show no sign of an upswing thru early 1977. With these low solar levels, about the only way the F2 MUF ventures far into the 30-50 MHz region is with the assistance of a magnetic storm. Such was the case on Dec 9 when the highest US MUF's since Oct 12-13 were noted. The transcontinental MUF might have come close to the 35-MHz pager pile.
