For a change, no earth-shaking news from WWV this time

Preliminary information from Boulder indicates that Cycle 20 may have
finally hit its minimum in July 1976. However, the Swiss predicted
numbers show no sign of an upswing thru early 1977.

With these low solar levels, about the only way the F2 MUF ventures far
into the 30-50 MHz region is with the assistance of a magnetic storm.
Such was the case on Dec 9 when the highest US MUF's since Oct 12-13
were noted. The transcontinental MUF might have come close to the 35-MHz
pager pile. So, again, we ask that those members on either coast report
any loggings of the other coast via F2 on VHF. Even tentative ID's are
very useful these days of scarcity.
