Hi,

Welcome at my HAM Radio homepage. My name is Ben (Bravo, Echo, November) and I'm a licensed HAM from november 2002. I passed my C-License which allows me to operate on 50 MHz and higher, and in the nearbye future I should be allowed to operate on HF bands because the demand for practicing CW is dropped this year.

I'm born in 1964 and that makes me 39 years of age this year (2003). I'm into electronics ever since about 8 years age, when I fixed the first transistorradio in my live. My father was one of the forefighters for a "starters" license after the use of the CB (citizen band) was under attack around 1974 / 1975.

So, after a lot of discussions with the chairleaders in The Hague, finally in November 1976 the first exam for the D license took place. My father passed the test, and was allowed the use of 6 fixed channels in the band between 145.250 and 145.400 with the exclusion of the 145.300 RTTY frequency. He was only allowed to use equipment from manufacturers which where approved by the RCD at that moment.

To bad that there was not yet equipment available at that time, so he used an TR7200G with VFO. At the time the Radio Control Duty was expected to drop by to check the equipment (they did do that, long time ago......) the equipment was exchanged with a radio from a good friend, which only had chrystals for the given six frequencies........

I studied LTS wood workmanship and was ready to start in constructing houses. With some good advice of my parents I decided to stay at school, and that made me start a study on the Rijnmond MTS in Schiedam, where I did electronics, and I finished the school with Telecommunication as one of the exam choices.

I started a job at Flower Auction Holland, as electronics serviceman, and after 13 1/2 years I still work at that company with a lot of pleasure. Two years ago I got one collegue who is very handy in constructing antenna's, for 70, 23 and 13 cm.........
