My Tower
My old situation in Leeuwarden. An Imax-2000 for 10/11
and an 4 elements ZX-yagi for
10/11 meter. The Imax didn't survive the move to my new location and the ZX was
sold.
Big mistake. Bought an used Hygain TH-2MK3 by internet
from
a HAM-operator who did
"modify" it so much it didn't work anymore.
But it was my own fault, I should have checked the Antenna for its
construction and SWR before I bought it. One hint before you will buy an used antenna:
Check all of this before you buy it and when you didn't have this experience
you can take a HAM-operator with you who has.
Begin of my new location. Because I did have a flat roof and allmost no
posibility to place a tower otherwise I choose for this construction.
Surfing the World Wide Web I did find this: A free-standing construction, 1 support-tower and a
tripod for counterweight(see picture above this text).
Maybe in the future I will put a larger support-tower on it.
I first installed a Diamond X-200 vertical for 2/70 and a Tonna T-20811,
11 element beam
for 2 meter and a PKW THF1-E rotary dipole for 10/15/20.
In June 2008 I removed the PKW and put a Diamond CP-6 in it.
This vertical is for
6/10/15/20/40/80 meter. I read a lot of reviews before I decide to buy this antenna.
In the mean time I place a G5RV junior wire-antenna. A little antenne which I mainly used
for 40 meter
The CP-6 is changed by a Fritzel FB-23 which I did buy from Erik PD7ES
He cleanded it so it works and looks like new again. A great antenna! I worked a
lot of DXCC with it. About 11 months later I replaced this beam with a FB-33
Great antenna with a good F/B ratio and good Gain.
The Tonna was replaced by a 10 elem. X-yagi from Jaybeam an this beam is replaced by
a 10 elem. DK7ZB homebrew Yagi(build by Erik PD7ES). Great antenna and made
some
very nice contacts with it. Also one with Meteor Scatter. But I'm not impressed
by
digital modes at this time so it stayed with 1 contact in MS.
For 40 mtr. I did buy a Fritzel FD-4 but this 40 mtr. long OFC-antenne was to
long to install it and I cut of some wire and made a FD-3 of it.
