FX5000 VHF base station, 50 watts, 0.5 ppm.

The FX5000 series of base stations employ a modular structure and are housed in a 19-inch cabinet. Unfortunately these units are rare and expensive occurrences in the amateur radio market, which is a bit strange because countless FX5000's must have landed in skips as network operators dismantled huge trunked radio networks, changing over to GSM.

The FX5000 requires re-adjustment after any major frequency change, and this can not be done successfully without the service documentation. Operating frequencies are stored in an EPROM.

The FR5000 is the crystal-controlled version of the FX5000.
