George and Tomi left Gladstone (Queensland) on 26 October and reached Suamarez Reef the day after. They had to stop there to wait for the weather to improve; hopefully the voyage will be resumed on Saturday with TX3A being expected to be QRV by 3 November in the local evening hours.

After his recent and memorable trip to the Ottawa Islands, Cezar (VE3LYC) will attempt to activate East Pen Island (NA-231, new one) for three days between 26 and 31 March 2010. Intended callsign will be VY0V, which will be applied for in due course.
Cezar reminds everyone that an earlier try he undertook with G3OCA in July 2007 was unsuccessful. The outcome of this new attempt will be determined by local conditions, weather and safety factors. In February 2009 the base will be replaced by the new "Neumayer Station III"

The International Space Station is now under construction and is permanently manned by teams of astronauts, many of whom have amateur licenses. Amateurs from the ISS partner countries, in the USA, Russia, Japan, Europe and Canada, have set up ARISS (Amateur Radio on the International
Space Station), a program to develop and put into operation the on-board amateur station.
The following frequencies are currently used for ARISS general QSOs:

Voice Uplink: 144.49 for Regions 2 and 3 (The Americas, and the Pacific)
