This page is a listing of the current working committees that are active at PCARA. Any member wishing to participate in one of the committees is more than welcome to. All he/she needs to do is contact the committee chairperson and discuss your interests with him.
This committee is currently examining the different repeater sites and putting together a proposal in order to replace some of the older gear. The PCARA North repeater equipment is the oldest operating in the club's arsenal, so we will be looking at options to replace it. It has lasted many years, but it is basically being held together with duct tape and bubble gum. The technical committee has already met twice to work out some solutions to this and we plan to have a formal proposal ready by the next meeting.
Anyone that would like to contribute opinions to or ask any questions concerning this equipment should contact a member of the tech committee.
The licensing committee is the only place for many miles to get your U.S. Amateur Operator License. Licensing procedures can be found on the Licenses page.
You want to put together a good time? Well, these guys can get you hooked up! From arranging special speakers at meetings to picnics or special on-the-air events, they can can find an activity that will show everyone a good time! The last event we had was the KZ5 Reunion on the Air held in May. Results from that event will be posted at a later date. The club also hosted a picnic last March. The year is quickly coming to an end and we are looking activities for the last couple months of the year. Anyone that would like to volunteer some ideas needs to contact one of the members of this committee or bring it up at the next club meeting.
