You will find information ranging from the latest adventures our members have undertaken to Reciprocal Licensing Requirements for transient operation in the Republic of Panama. Our members have interests that span from DxPeditions to VHF work. We hope you enjoy your visit with us!

Farewell to the Harrill's!

Picture of Hu introducing a Scout to Ham Radio! Picture of Sherill watching the hams go at it!

We would like to wish Sherill and Hu Harrill a fond farewell as they leave Panama for the states. They have been very active in PCARA for many, many years and will be sorely missed. They have contributed so much to our club. One can not find a better role model for civic leadership than this couple.
The repeater systems would not be operating if it were not for Hu's work. He has also been the leader for the FCC W5YI Ham testing team in Panama, the only location in Central America for folks to get test for their FCC licenses. Sherill has kept up with the publications necessary for testing as well as provide many services to the club. Both have served many times as club officers. Any time there has been a charity event or a club activity, they have been there.
We could devote an entire web page to their unselfish, dedicated work for others. Suffice to say we will miss you and we wish the best of luck and God's Blessings to you in your future endevours.
73's from your friends in PCARA!,

Many changes have taken place! PCARA has found it necessary to change its bylaws with the departure of the American Military Forces and the closure of the Panama Canal Commission. This is a link to the proposed new bylaws. Please take a look as the club will be voting on them at the 30 March 2000 meeting.

Panama Canal Reversion!

The PCARA hosted several special event stations during the last part of December and first week of Janauary. Several special calls were issued by the Communication Ministry for this event with the prefix of 3F1 and 3F3. We hope that you may have had a chance to work us during that time. Anyone needing a QSL card for this event should contact Ricardo Lee.
