VHF Contesting with PI4SHB/P

pookline

In 1996 and 1997 i was part of the crew of VHF contest station PI4SHB/P. Together with Catharinus PE1AHX, Timo PE1FOD, John PE1OGF, Martin PE1DCY, and Peter PA3BXM we participated in 8 contests as multi-single entry on 2 meters.
Eventually we managed to get one first place, and second places in the rest of the contests in the Dutch competition.
Apart from the terrific operators and fine technical skills of the team, one of the reasons for our successes was that we were able to use a very good contest location.
I live opposite of a factory where cow-food is made. The people of this factory were kind enough to let us use one of the now empty buildings as contest qth. This building is about 40 meters high, with lots of space to put up antennas.
On this page you can see some pictures from our conteststation and the antennas that we used.
