PC1L
is the latest callsign of Leon Heidendal, born 1950 in Sittard, the
Netherlands. I became interested in amateur radio in 1959. That year
I built my first radio which had the possibility to receive amateur
radio transmissions. Already in that time you could see on our house
in Stein several antennae. Most antennae on the three roofs of the house
were wire ( KW ) or chicken gauze ( UKW, monitoring Russian Space Transmissions
). In that time I experimented also already with tubes and repaired
sometimes for neighbours their radios. Because there were more hobbies
and study, I only continued receiving and monitoring. Still I did not
work with transmitters. Later on I obtained a technical licence ( C
) around 1980, ( PE1GMO ). For a time I did not use often the license.
Was not frequently QRV. But I moved to Sittard in 1990, and became more
actively : under the influence of PA0DSZ I was busy with the theory
and construction of television transmitters ( ATV ). Because I interested
myself for Morse ( CW ) I decided to obtain the A license. I received
the callsign PA3GJE. Around 2000, I had a talk ( QSO ) with Dirk, ON1DLL
( now ON5GS ). He advised me to do something with satellites. I did
so and it was nice. I had frequently success in using low power ( QRP
). Concerning the bad intelligibility, sometimes, I exchanged the fine
callsign PA3GJE then for PC1L. Because of one of the other hobbies (
flying ) there were several flights with amateur radio and television.
