A little bit more about the
V/U mode: up 145.92 MHz ( concerns RX3 ) plus 67 Hz PL ( 1 sec activates TXB 10 sec, 435.3 MHz down ) or 145.88 MHz ( QRP, concerns RX2, no PL required ) Remark ! The Echo PL tone decoder turns on TXB and gates ( only during the receiving of a PL tone ) the audio path. The system detects sub tones ( for instance 67 Hz ) causing 1 kHz deviation without problems. Sometimes ( concerning certain modes or experiments ) no PL tone is required. The latest information on AO-51 can be found at:
http://www.amsat.org
Remark ! BEFORE you work via the satellite: FIRST ( to avoid errors ) read the LATEST ( AMSAT ) news ( about schedules, experiments ). Also, you can check the broadcast message on the digital downlink. If it says the bbs is CLOSED then do NOT transmit on the uplink ! Schedules are changing from time to time. Further, do NOT transmit at once ( or without monitoring the actual downlink ) ! First listen !
