Every day, i was listed to the radio. My
father and mother both a other radio in a shop, only for me.
My father and mother was thinking now we get back the first radio, but no. I
was thinking, i have now 2 radio's.
A Jalta tube radio also whit the same bands, and the other
Philips tube radio.
Whit this same radio's decovery i a signal, but it was a other modulation
what i was received. I
was not to hearn what say somebody on that frequentie.
It was around the 3.6 Mhz band. There was a signal but i cannot
understanding that signal.
I was take the second radio, and i was set that on the same frequentie.
That signal was there also.
I take the VFO around and was going over the frequenties.
Is there
more signal whit the same signal ?
When i was tunning the VFO hearned i that the signal what
i was not understanding on the first radio and when i slow tunning the VFO from
the second radio, it signal, i can it understanded.
I had no learned here before on electronica. It was for me a decovery.
( This was for my the decovery from a BFO )
I think i was about 16 years old.
My father and mother was saying, what must we do whit so a boy.
I was very happy, i can understanding a signal what for
other people not so is.
Later on hearned i from a other old man, you have decovery
the ssb, lsb signal and you have no learned her before electronica.
So, i was thinking, whit no learning in electronica, and nobody that have
help me, i have find out the BFO and the LSB, USB.
( The BFO, LSB,USB that was longer, but for me wid no
the mantery from electronica and a boy from the years 60, i found that very
nice from myself whit the 2 tubes radio's ).
Also whit CW, when i set 2 radio's together, we tunning on VFO from one, the
other give then a other nice sjilp signal.
I was decovery this in the years 1960 to 1970 in the town Venlo, and every
body was saying to me. Look out, Look out Jan for Germany ( thinking years
1940 - 1945 ).
My grantfather and mother was living in Amsterdam, in the
end of the 1968 we are go on holiday to Amsterdam.
The 2 tube radio's are go whit me.
By my grantfather and mother the 2 tube radio's on,
and see i hearned PA0AP ( silent key ) from out Venlo around the 3.6 Mhz.
He was very strong there in Amsterdam, and my grantfather listed also whit
me, and he say. That is Peter from out Blerick
( Venlo W ). That is family from you. I was thinking family ?
Yes say my grantfather family. But i have no see him before say i.
I give you a adress say my grantfather, and that family can say where he is
living.
Over 1 mounth i had adress from him, and i was called him via the phone. He
say to me. Come to me, and i will give you a demonstration, and you can see
here everthing.
On a sunday morning about 11:00 o'clock i was go to him.
He say, come in my house and i will tell you everthings.
He say. I must first make a contact on the 40 mtr. band in CW
whit my friend G3RLZ, ( silent key ) that do i every weak.
He had a homemade station whit tubes in every box.
That was later on, i was come in contact whit Jan Heyting te Venlo. This old
man was swl station, and every month cold or warm weather he was coming wid
new QSL's cards.
There was no a HAM union in the midlle from Linburg. We must find a union.
I was From the VRZA SWL number PA 1575 and the other boys from the VERON.
The activity was very slow there, and we must making members for the club.
In Horst (L) we wil give there a demonstration over HamRadio. There was
interresed, and some people was wording member.
Later on i was must by Martin ( PA0VJ ). He was looking a swl station that
can make CW. On a day i was make in him schack a QSO wid CW on the 2 Mtr.
band. Of course Martin ( PA0VJ ) was also in the schack. That was beutafull.
Many thinks we doing together. We was going to Utrecht, and a SWL station
Ton Schreurs was coming by the club. Also from out Venlo (L). Ton was listed
wid a Gelose receiver and i wid a R107.
Jan Heyting, Ton Schreurs and i we was learned
by PA0AP ( Peter ).
He was saying many times. Jan later on you get your A lincense, but from the
other guys, i do no. He had it ok in the year 1980 i had first my D lincense
and 2 years later my A lincense.
Around 1971 i was move to a other place and well 't Gooi.
The R-107 must go wid me. I was move to a other place for my work. On that
moment was work on the first place. I had no time for learn for the HAM
license, but i listed some time on the R-107 receiver on the HF bands.
Later on about the year 1979 i had a girl. In the year 1980 we married. We
learn for the HAM license and see, we get it.
Get in 1980 my D-license ( PD0LVO ) and over 2 years the A license ( PA3CJP
).
I was so happy that i could kiss the examenator, because i did pass the
exame that he was sending me license.
Later on i had hearned that she had a present for me, and that was the story
that all so long last.
I must get the suffix CJP. The C was for the name Cor. The father from my
wife, and the JP is my first personalian.
Some poeple is say CJP Cultere jongeren paspoort.
I can also CW, and Peter and Bill maked on that moment every sunday a QSO. I
can also worked now wid the boys.
But after 2 a 3 QSO's wid him had maked,
Bill get silent key ( G3RLZ ).
That was for my also a hard moment.
