Hello dear friend,

I got your E-mail ads from Bernd, DL7APV. Our clubstation DL0AO is now ready
for 70cm EME. The problem is there is no linear at the location, and I have
to bring mine from home-QTH. So I have to be active in a "block". I will do
it the same way as I use to do it on 2m EME: I want to spot a time-block for
possible skeds.

I would like to get your "netnotes", too:
[email protected]                        @@@@@@@@@

Can you send me the skeds/known activities for the coming sked-weekend, too?

I´m planning to do the first tests on saturday, 15th of June in my
USA-window from 16.00 to 21.00 UTC (moonset into trees). I want to listen to
skeds, try random or even some skeds.

The rig on DL0AO: 4x11lamda DJ9BV, 700W on the antennas.

My infos for K2UYH for newsletter will be sent, soon.

All instructions/tipps about skedmaking on 70cm very wellcome.....100%
newcomer!

TNX very much!
Tom, DJ5RE for the DL0AO team.

One small correction:

K5PJR asked about tracking programs that run on Linux for a polar mount.  I
note that my MoonSked was recommended, however please note that MoonSked is
not available for Linux, only MS Windows and Macintosh. It can be run under
a windows emulator in Linux however.

Subj:    DL0AO: all skeds cancelled
Date:   6/12/02 3:32:16 PM Eastern Daylight Time
From:   [email protected] (Thomas Hoeppe)
To:     [email protected]

Hello Joe,

I´m very sorry....I´m making heavy troubles before running the first QSO.
Let me tell you what happened:

I´m very sorry to tell you, that DL0AO has to cancell all skeds on 70cm for
the next weekend.
I was out on the clubstation today and brought my 70cm amp. When testing it
I had to discover my protection-cirquit being activated at a few hundred
watts. Turning round the slug of my bird-meter showed lots of reflected
power.....there was nothing to be measured only 2 weeks ago! I took a small
dummy and climbed the tower. I followed the TX-path....superb SWR all way up
to the power-divider. When disconnecting the single antennas I watched water
running out of the connectors! We use 1/2" HCF for stacking, using original,
new connectors by "Telegärtner". The connectors use lots of O-rings to make
them water-proof. The whole is extra sealed with lots of high-quality tape
wrapped around, like I did it for years without any problems. Now they were
full of water after only 2 weeks! I thought about the water coming through
the cable....from the dipole-boxes. But 1/2" HCF has no braid-shield, and
the foam is closed-cell. The power-devider itself is dry inside.
I will not be able to be QRV until the weekend, so I´m very sorry that I
have to cancel all skeds.

Could you put it in your info board, Joe? I´m really sorry....I would have
love`d to try the skeds, and everything showed up so nice this time.....ufb
SWR, high sun-noise, good pattern.

DJ5RE for a very disappointed and confused DL0AO crew.

Due to the set up of both the 144 and 432 MHz antennas taking much longer than
anticipated, Warren will not be able to make the Friday morning schedules on
either 144 or 432 MHz.  He hopes to have both stations up and running by
tomorrow afternoon local time.  The 432 dish is completely assembled but has not
been tested.  The 144 MHz antenna is 80 percent complete, but still needs to be
cabled up and checked out.

Warren and a host of volunteers have been working very hard to get this
together, so we appreciate everyone's patience for a bit longer.

432 MHz operation from W0WD/2 is on hold due to high winds.  We cannot
release the tie downs on the dish for testing until the wind subsides,
hopefully later Friday afternoon and evening, local time.

Hi all,

I'm QRV on 1296 MHz from KP11WL on JT44 mode.
I have approx. 40 W power and 25 dBi antenna gain.
RX system NF is approx. 0.6 dB. So I'm really
"small gun".

So I would like to try some skeds. I'll be QRV
today until moonset (23:00 UTC) and tomorrow
from maybe 8:00 to 23:00 UTC.

CW skeds with BIG GUNS also possible.
