Hi Joe, Antennas were destroyed in the wind last Nov! Have new ones
started, hope to be back in about a month, maybe less. I also have
started to gather 1296 equip, have transverter and 6X2C39 amp, so hope
to be qrv there by fall. No 20ft or better dishes available around here,
may build.
I will advise you when Im ready on 70cm. Thanks for the interest! 73

Hi Joey:
Please report to the group that Warren, W2WD, is now maintaining the Email list.
I had to give up some duties and really hated to let that go but feel really
good that Warren was gracious enough to except that responsibility. All updates
should be sent to him at [email protected].
I'm not sure if I will continue to distribute the NL for Al, but I am willing
to do so. That duty takes only about 10 minutes a month to handle. Hope all is
well with the group and I hope to be able to be on EME again real soon. I think
all the equipment is just sitting and ready to go.
Thanks for all you do..

Subj: Newcomer
Date: 3/31/02 11:15:09 AM Eastern Standard Time
From: [email protected] (Joel Black)
To: [email protected] (Joseph M DeMaso)
I appreciate your welcome on the net this morning. I am semi-active on
satellites (AO40, UO14, FO20, FO29, UO22). Semi-active because I am also a
full-time husband, father, and student. I am interested in what I think the
next, logical progression for me regarding amateur radio - EME.
My current equipment consists of:
Yaesu FT-847
Cushcraft 738XB 70cm antenna
Cushcraft A144-20T 2m antenna
Conifer BBQ grid dish with linear feed for 2.4GHz
modified CalAmp 31732 for 2.4GHz downlink
7/8" hardline for 70cm and 2m
I also have a 13' TVRO dish and have access to possibly more. My initial
desire was to start on 1296 EME, but I need to try and keep the entire
endeavor under $1000. I realize that that means building a lot of my stuff
(i.e. antennas, preamps, amps, etc.).
There is a plethora of information available on the web, but it is almost
overwelming. I appreciate any pointers regarding either 432 or 1296 EME.
Tnx es 73 from EM62,
Joel Black, W4JBB
