I am working on modifications to my radar pedestal SRC-584 . The pedestal
has selsyns ( synchros )  I would like to use them instead of converting to
expensive absolute digital encoders.
I need help and/or suggestions how to digitize the selsyns output. I heard
that Analog Devices has IC which do the job, but so far I could not find
any informations on those IC's.
Any help and suggestions will be very much appreciated.

Hello  Joe K1RQG

Hi alls, here was quite bad condx during last SW and SSB contest. It was
strong snow storm whole day and evening. I was little bit afraid of unlock
the dish during storm. Signal doesn't stapil because antenna direction
doesn't correct all the time. I QSOed 6 SSB 23 cm: HB9Q, GW3XYW, F2TU,
OZ6OL, K5JL and OE9XXI power was 100 w in the dish.
Help  Help   Help  please !
Right now I am testing HB PA for 23 cm made YL1050 tube, published in  DUBUS
3/1993, Resonant  points are clear in input and output cavities. Three
different  tubes I tested are surs plas ones not new  operates about same
style, not have flasher:  Ua = 2400 V and Ug2 = 500 V, idle current 300 mA.
Efficient is only 6 dB. Input power is 70 W and output power 300 W. DC input
power is 1900 W. Efficient only 15 %.
Input and output probes are optimum points. Output probe is quite close to
inside screen line.
Vertical position of the tube is optimum also. The tube location has an
effect of efficient, comments Peter SM2CSG. Three different tubes I have
tested are surs plas ones not new operates about same style, not flasher.
If somebody has time for me and idea and experiences what I have to do to
get better results about efficient of the amplifier so please contact to me.

Has somebody for sale 23 cm intermediate solid state amplifier 10 db, out
100 W, 13.6 or 24 V.

Jay, How are you?       After fitting the ring on the VE4MA feed, I thought all would
be well, but too much blockage on my small dish. 2 dB of it.   Removed it and back to
square one.  Now the sun is up high enough, moved the feed and got an extra 1dB of
sun noise.  Now between 6 and 7dB of noise. Not too bad for a small dish! This is
the best it has performed and all is working ok again.  Will be on for the contest
weekend on 23cm again. Will look at my window for you.  I go to Orlando with my family
on 31 mar for two weeks so hope to go shopping to AES I think it is called!!!
Looking forward to this trip immensely.    73  Iain.
