Joe et al,
I have been very busy with job but did do some listening last night.
Conditions were not very good. Did hear K1FO but not his usual signal
strength. Howerver, I put in a DCI bandpass filter after the antenna pre
amp and it made a big difference: fewer birdies and  quieter noise floor.
Hope to be more active next month.

Hi Joe - could someone please advise the procedure for
SWR adjustment on a 23cm W2IMU feedhorn. Some notes
that I have suggest removing the nulling post & one probe
then trimming each probe on its own - is this the correct
way to do it?

Joe,
finally climbed the tow and reset the rotators and could now hear
stations, besides kl6m (only 25 miles away) \but didn't make any
contacts even though I tried.  Heard the following stations UA3PTW,
YO2IS, K1FO, KU4F, K9SLQ(?),S5? and of course KL6M.  Maybe tomorrow will
be able to work some stations.  will be on around 1900Z.

Hear that VE7bqh was recovering normally, but he ain't normal but do
wish him all the best in his un-normal recovery period.

Joe,  Had rx problems last night.   I heard nothing.   Spoke to Mark GM4ISM on
the phone and could hear his audio on 23cm with many stations. (He blew up his PA)
I don't know what the problem is, but cannot investigate until early March as
away on business again.    Please give my apologies to the guys!!!!!

Hi Joe,

On 70 cm I heard nil in my sked with N1BUG.  Paul did hear me (O).  This
is encouraging and we will probably try again tonight.  Otherwise I made
a few other QSOs, but activity seemed very light.

The next day on 23 cm, I had a great time at the beginning of SSB
contest.  Signals and conditions seemed excellent.  The SSB copy of many
of the bigger stations was perfect -- better than 20 m!  We had good WX
here, but apparently this was not the case in Eur.  Many regular Eur
stations were missing.  I did QSO on CW N7AM.  After the moon set in Eur
things got very quiet and I took a break.  I came back on for the JA/VK
window, but heard nothing except my own echoes.  After an hour of CQs
with nil results, I discovered that my 726 had jumped a MHz and that I
was on 1297 not 1296! By this time the moon was at 16 degs and blockage
a real problem.  I went down to 1296, and called for another 15 minutes
with similar nil results.  This was very disappointing.  I wonder how
others made out?

Please add me to GM0ONN's 1296 sked list.  I still want to work him.

Subj:   SSB Weekend at Dales. W4OP in NC
Date:   2/24/02 12:41:07 PM Eastern Standard Time
From:   W4sc
To:     K1rqg
CC:     [email protected]

Hi to all,

Was at Dales W4OP, for 23cm SSB party.

We had very good conditions, WX perfect, RX perfect, bad AMP problems.

Dale worked ZS6AXT (for a new one I believe).  Called W2UHI on CW and the AMP
"blew up".  Could not transmit, so we listened.

The following heard on CW:  WA1JOF 559,  N7AM 329,  HB9Q 579.

The following heard on SSB: W1ZX 4/54/5, W7BBM 33, F2TU 56, K0YW 57,
OE9ERC 55/6, K4QI 55, K5JL 57, HB9Q 57,  K2UYH 56, W2UHI 56, LX1DB 58+,
W1QC 55, and KD5FZX 55.

LX1DB had a BIG signal with excellent audio, peaking "S9" on the meter at times.
W1ZX had a "pile up" at one time, with I believe OE9ERC, K0YW, and F2TU(?) calling.

Dale will be working on the amp to resolve problem.
