PA0KDM working on his 136Khz transmitter

Readers will be sorry to hear that PA0KDM died 16 August 2007. This page is kept as a honorary.

His specialities were:

A rather new branch of his hobby was constructing a receiver/transmitter on 136 KHz and operating it.

PA0KDM has been QSL manager for regio R32 in the Netherlands since 1948 and since 1995
honary member of the VERON.

Since 1995 he maintained a database containing calls, qsl-managers and adresses (about 150.000)

In 1952 we started the "Meppel-Ronde", a group of hams discussing their hobby on a weekly basis
(at sunday 12:00-14:00 hrs local time) simultaneously on 80 and 2 meters and later on (1980) also on
70 centimeters. PA0KDM had the pleasure to lead these rounds for more than 2200 times.
Recently (april 6th 2001) the 2500th round took place and for once PA0KDM was asked to lead it again.
Thanks to PE1JUQ cs. who made it possible to follow the round "live" on the Internet. This is believed to be the first time that a ham-radio discussion could be followed on the Internet.
