The station has the needed essentials for day-to-day operation. Very
simple, but reliable.

ON THE AIR AGAIN
2 years after moving, the station is on the
air again. The TH7 @ 45 feet was the first antenna that became
operational, and it was immediately tested during WPX SSB 2004. It
performed flawlessy.
A last minute effort to put the 40-80-160m dipole gave some valuable points
and mults. However, to work optimally, the dipole needs additional
grounding as the aluminum tower is completely insulated. Just another item for the To Do List.

BACKGROUND
Even though Aruba nowadays is known as a tourist
destination, some of us actually do live here year round, and I am one of the
"lucky" ones. Except for my college years when I
attended the University of Miami in Coral Gables, FL, I have always lived here. In 1996,
after completing my Masters in International Business and Computer Information
Systems, I returned back to Aruba. At present, I am working in the private
sector for a local construction company.
